Lyss Remaly was the “funny fat girl” from birth through adolescence and into adulthood. It stopped being funny when Lyss found herself at 350 pounds and unable to fit into an airplane seat. In June 2010, Lyss had Duodenal Switch surgery with hopes of losing the weight for good. She had already failed a Lap-Band, which had been done at age 16 and managed to eat her way through the band and into serious trouble.
After bariatric surgery, Lyss still needed a “click” moment to realize that bariatric surgery can only do so much to assist with weight loss and it was going to be up to HER to change her lifestyle to make the surgery as successful as possible.
Through hard work, determination, endless hours of reading, buckets of sweat, tears and an undying will to live a healthy and fit life…this funny fat girl found her way into a fit life and a Natural Bodybuilding Championship trophy.

From Bariatrics to Bodybuilding, NOTHING is Impossible!
It doesn’t matter if someone wants to compete in bodybuilding, run a marathon or be a competitive underwater basket weaver. You HAVE to commit to working with the surgery to change your LIFESTYLE. Each person is different, each situation and lifestyle is different…but you HAVE to make the commitment to work HARDER than the surgery to change. Yes it’s hard…Yes it takes a LONG time and YES it is frustrating and scary and exhausting…but it is SO worth it to look in the mirror and feel proud and good and finally love the person looking back at you. Join Lyss as she shares how she went from Bartiatrics to Bodybuilding!
